Tata Motors posts two percent jump in August global wholesales


Mumbai, Sep 11 (IANS): Tata Motors Group on Friday reported a 2-percent jump in its August global wholesales, or bulk sales to dealerships as opposed to actual retail buyers, at 74,639 units, including of Jaguar Land Rovers.

The cumulative wholesales inclusive of the Jaguar-Land Rover division for the ongoing fiscal year, however, remained flat at 381,656 units over the last financial year.

The global wholesales of the company's commercial vehicles and the Tata Daewoo range in August 2015 declined by three percent at 29,683 units when compared to the same month in 2014 whereas the cumulative commercial vehicles' volume sales to dealers, like total unit sales, remained flat in the ongoing fiscal year at 146,723 units.

Global wholesales of the company's passenger cars in August this year stood at 11,853 units which is higher by five percent over the same month last year. The collective wholesales for the same category during the current fiscal stood at 54,810 units - higher by 18 percent in comparison to the last fiscal year.

Total global passenger vehicle bulk sales to dealerships in the month under consideration was registered at 44,956 units - higher by five percent as compared to August 2014.

Jaguar wholesales for the month was registered at 6,594 vehicles and cumulative wholesales stood at 34,678 units, while the Land Rover wholesales during August was 26,509 vehicles and cumulative wholesales were 145,445 vehicles.
