Germany's benchmark DAX index closes down


Frankfurt, Sep 12 (IANS): The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange dropped by almost 90 points and closed above 10,000 points.

Investors were restraint under selling pressure and the blue-chip index lost 86.88 points and closed at 10,123.56 points, reported Xinhua news agency.

Heidelberg Cement AG and Deutsche Lufthansa AG managed to rise slightly, up by 0.76 percent and 0.04 percent each.

The two utilities companies E.ON SE and RWE AG St dropped the most, down by 4.36 percent and 3.37 percent.

The turnover stood at 2.59 billion euros (around $2.93 billion). E.ON SE was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 216.47 million euros.
