Mangalore, Jul 5: Kendriya Beary Sahitya Parishat (KBSP) will organize a seminar on reasons for the vitiation of the atmosphere of communal harmony in the coastal districts and the ways and means to sustain the harmony. The seminar entitled “Why communal harmony is decaying in coastal districts? How to retain it?” will be held at the Town Hall around 4.30 pm here on Friday, July 6, according to a press release.
Prof B K Chandrashekhar, speaker of the legislative council, will preside over the function. Prof B Surendra Rao of the history department of Mangalore University, K M Sharif KFD state president and Prof Aravind Malagathi will conduct the seminar, said president of the Parishat M B Abdul Rehman, in a press release.
The newly-elected Ullal MLA U T Khader will be felicitated by the Parishat on behalf of the entire Beary community. Rehman will preside over the felicitation function. Various cultural programmes will also be held on the occasion.
Former minister B A Moideen, Ullal Juma Masjid and Dargah committeei president U K Ibrahim, G A Bava police officer Beary’s Welfare Association, B M Farooq Bangalore president and K Mohammed District Beary Okkota, Chickmagalur president will be the chief guest on the occasion.
General secretary Umar U H, vice president B A Akbar Ali vice-president and Haji Agsar Ali B H were present at the press meet.
