Kundapur, Jul 5: The students’ federation of India of Kundapur unit led a protest march here recently condemning the raise in the bus fare by KSRTC Bangalore,.
Bhandarkar’s College, Basrur Sharada College and various other colleges and schools joined the march. The assistant commissioner at Kundapur was given the representation forcing the chief minister to reduce the bus fare for the students.
It was pointed out that the increase in the rate from 15% to 25% was certainly not fair especially for students from rural areas.
Student leaders Mahesh M G, Ravindra Umesh, Dinesh, Pradeep Shetty, Fazal and Rakesh led the protest.
Santosh Kumar, the joint secretary of SFI of Kundapur taluk had organized the protest march.
