Another LoC ceasefire violation by Pakistan: Army


Jammu, Sep 14 (IANS): Pakistani troops opened unprovoked shelling at Indian positions on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Monday evening, a defence official said.

"Pakistan army used 82 mm mortars to violate ceasefire in Balakot sector today (Monday) evening. Pakistan shelling and firing started at 6.45 p.m. and continued till 7.45 p.m.," defence spokesman, Lt.Col. Manish Mehta told IANS here.

"Our troops effectively retaliated. No casualty or damage has been reported from our side till last reports came in," he said.

On Sunday, an assistant sub-inspector of the Border Security Forced was killed in Pakistan ceasefire violation in the same sector of the LoC.
