Mangalore: Fire at Baikampady and Bunder - Loss in Lacs

Mangalore, Jul 6: In a rare co-incidence,  major fire mishapss were reported  simultaneously from two prominent places in Mangalore.

First was at the premises of Accurate Veneers and Wood Products Factory at  Baikampady Industrial area, wherein the factory went into flames.  The exact cause of this major fire is not known.  But unconfirmed sources revealed that it was due to the burst of a water boiler  at 7 p m which resulted in the fire.

The loss is estimated to be in several lacs and the factory is considered to be a total loss.

Fire service arrived almost immediately at the spot and took control of the situation. But damage was already done prior to the arrival of the fire engines.

In a similar incident, a footwear godown caught fire at Bunder area around the same time causing major loss and damage to property.

In both the incidents, no human casualties were  reported
