Two criminals from Bihar held in Delhi


New Delhi, Sep 15 (IANS): Two criminals from Bihar who had a bounty of Rs.50,000 each on their head were arrested here for their involvement in over 40 heinous cases, police said on Tuesday.

Gorakh Thakur, 35, and Zakir Ali, 26, were arrested in two separate operations led by Delhi Police.

Thakur and Ali were held from west Delhi's Rohini and Najafgarh area, respectively, on Monday and Sunday.

"Thakur and Ali have been involved in over 40 heinous cases. A reward of Rs.50,000 was announced on the head of each of them by Bihar Police," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Rajiv Ranjan said.

Police said Thakur, who started his criminal career in 1997, was involved in more than 25 criminal cases and is wanted in five fresh cases.

According to the police, Ali was also involved in more than 15 cases and is wanted in nine fresh cases.
