Four Keralites deported from UAE let off after questioning

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 15 (IANS): Four people from Kerala who were deported from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and arrived in the state on Tuesday were let off after questioning by state and central officials.

According to Kerala Police, all four were let off, but police decided to continue to probe the matter.

Earlier in the day, state Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala told IANS that while two of them were picked up on arrival at the international airport here in the early hours of Tuesday, the other two were taken in for questioning on arrival at the Kozhikode international airport.

"Officials of various state and central agencies questioned them. The four were deported from the UAE. However, they do not have any case registered against them in Kerala," said Chennithala.
