Udupi, Jul 7: Fr Baptist Menezes assumed charge as Episcopal vicar of Udupi district on Friday July 6 evening.

Earlier, he was the director of Fr Muller Charitable Institutions in Mangalore. Fr Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General of the Diocese officiated the handing over ceremony.

At the same time Fr Valerian D’Souza, the out-going Episcopal vicar of the district thanked all those who helped him in his service.

Dean Fr Mathew Vas welcomed the gathering. Alphonse D’Costa proposed vote of thanks.  Fr Richard Coelho compered the programme.
