Over Rs.12 lakh seized from BJP MLA's vehicle in Patna


Patna, Sep 17 (IANS): Over Rs.12 lakh in cash was recovered on Thursday in Patna from the vehicle of BJP legislator Usha Vidhartthi, police said.

"Police found Rs.12.36 lakh in her vehicle during ongoing checking for unaccounted cash...," a police officer said.

The Income Tax department along with Bihar Police have intensified crackdown on use of black money and unaccounted cash as the model code of conduct is in force for the upcoming assembly polls.

Former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi's son Parween was on Sunday detained with Rs.4.65 lakh in cash in Jehanabad district and in last four days more than Rs.2 crore in cash has been seized across the state.
