Dubai, Sep 21: KaDaM's 5th anniversary program is scheduled to be held on October 23 at Sheraton Deira, Dubai and will kick start at 10 am sharp with a promise to render an exciting day filled with loads of entertainment, fun and frolic followed by a sumptuous lunch.
KaDaM is a socio cultural forum established in the year 2010 in Dubai and since its inception has been gaining ground step by step and to put it in other words it is 'KaDaM' by 'KaDaM' in Hindi. Every year KaDaM honors its community members who have excelled in one or the other field and confers on them 'Devadiga Sadaka Prashasti'. Since 2010 the sequence of people who have been conferred this Prashasti are B G Mohandas, Seena Devadiga, Meghana Saligrama and Raghurama Devadiga. This year two prominent figures are sharing this award. Raju Devadiga a well known politician and Vijayalakshmi Shibaroor a journalist are flying from India to receive this honour.
As of date, 'KaDaM' takes pride to announce that a whopping sum of around Rs 15 lac has been accumulated as KaDaM Education Fund and kept in the bank as fixed deposit. The accrued interest thus gained and contributions from members and sponsors are utilized as scholarship, distribution of books, medical help etc. In addition every year KaDaM's members and well wishers donate blood at Sheikha Latifa Hospital, Dubai as a committment to the land which we serve.
This year for KaDaM’s 5th anniversary many celebrities will be arriving from India and the main attraction will be the well known south Indian actress Vinaya Prasad.
Vinaya Prasad
Popular south Indian actress Vinaya Prasad of Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu language films will be the guest of honour for KaDaM's 5th annual celebrations along with other celebrities. Vinaya Prasad who has also featured in various television serials has won the state best Actress Award for her performances in Aathanka (1993) and Bannada Hejje (2001) and Kerala Critics Award for overall performance. She has also has bagged many social and fan Club Awards in her career. The senior actress in her career has co-starred with veterans like Vishnuvardhan, Ambarish, Ananth Nag, Rajnikanth, Mohanlal, Venkatesh, Akkineni Nagarjuna, V Ravichandran, Shivarajkumar, Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR and others.
Fluent in Kannada, Tulu, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and English she has conquered the hearts of lakhs of audience by her spellbinding speeches and anchoring. Other than acting she is a versatile singer by herself and has contributed few private Kannada and Hindi albums.
She has to her credit around 250 hit films and some of the famous films are Ganeshana Maduve, Gauri Ganesha, Karulina Koogu, Yarigu Hela Bedi, Apta Rakshaka, Neenu Nakkare Haalu Sakkare, Mani Chitra Tazu, Perundachchan, Kalisundam-raa, Shiradi Sai, Dukadu, Indra, Chandramukhi, Koti Chennaya etc. In TV serials she has acted in Sthree in Malyalam, Shakhti in Kannada and remembered for her unforgettable performance. Jyothiprakash Atre
Another star of the evening is Jyothiprakash Atre, popularly known as J P in the industry who will also be guest of honour during KaDaM's 5th anniversary celebrations. Jyothiprakash Atre started his creative career with writing plays like Shehazada (enacted by Nana Patekar), Bus Naqab Uthane Taq (presented by late Shafi Inamdar) and Doosara Sisila (enacted by Reema Lagu). He took advertising as his main profession and has conceived huge campaigns for multi nationals. Well versed in crafting TV commercials, documentaries, corporate films, jingles etc, J P has contributed as screen writer for many TV serials in Marathi and Hindi. Hindi serials like Dhadkan on Sony and Kagaar on SaharaTV are some of them. He has produced and directed a musical TV show in Kannada called Sugama Saregama Express.
J P is also a popular singer and is known as a reincarnation of Kishore Kumar who has rocked the audience from Mumbai, Bengaluru and other towns he has performed in. To his credit he has also written and composed various musical albums. Chaand Savaari is one such landmark involving Dr S P Balasubrahmaniam and Pandit Shankar Shanbhaug as lead singers.
Vijayalakshmi Shibaroor
Another guest is a well known journalist Vijayalakshmi Shibaroor who is the special investigative correspondent in Asianet groups Suvarna news 24x7 - Kannada news channel and has won Karnataka Media Academy Award 2010-11, Madhyam Ratna 2011-12, Bangaluru Ratna 2012- 13, Namma Bangalore Award 2014-15, Madyama Snamaan for best investigative reporter 2012 -13 etc.
She has made a Pakistan tour and has made a documentary on the socio economic condition of Pakistan, as well as more than 215 investigative stories, produced investigative programme ‘Cover story’ which is one of the popular investigative programmes in Kannada news channels. Cover story creates awareness among public on many social issues. Stories on adulterated food has created tremendous impact on the public. Her lottery scam, betting scam, play home scam, water scam, Anganawadi scam, food scam, bonded child labour in Bengaluru has made an impact and has made the government react positively towards changing its policy.
She has produced popular political programmes like Nimma uru Nimma Dooru, Chunavana payana, Janamata and also lead Bengaluru bureau, lifestyle team and produced programmes like Hot and Cool, Fit and Fine, Prime Property. Further she did many live programmes related to politics, spiritual, traditional as well as current affairs and has also worked as Magazine editor, general desk in charge and to her credit published more than 150 articles in various newspapers in Kannada and English.
V J Vineeth
V J Vineeth will be also be the guest of honour and will take over the stage programme throughout the day in his imitable style. A theater and mime artist by himself Vineeth is also a model, director, anchor and MC and has worked as an anchor and VJ for V4 TV News channel, Sahaya TV and currently working in Spandana TV as a VJ. He has acted as model in TV advertisements namely 'Aqua ICE BERG' mineral water and Infra cooling refrigerators.
He has played a lead role in Kannada telefilm 'SALUGE', acted in 'RANG', 'SOOMBE' Tulu movies and also features as a lead in the upcoming Tulu movie 'Rambarooti' and 'Maarnemi'.
Ravi Bhat
One more celebrity to join the KaDaM's anniversary is Ravi Bhat a south Indian TV and film actor who has acted in many Kannada and Telugu films including TV serials. Currently he is playing the role of Yudishtira in Kannada mega serial Mahabharata running in Udaya TV.
A gold medalist post graduate from Mangalore University has done MBA from QUT Brisbane, Australia.
He has worked as a lecturer at PPC Udupi and later joined the corporate world. He quit as VP operations at SAMCO, Chicago.
Bhat has acted in various movies and TV serials in Telugu and Tamil and has also acted in a Tulu movie 'Shattardulai' which is yet to be released. Ravi Bhat's wife who is works at customs and they have a daughter doing her hotel management.
