Monthi Fest: Vamanjoorians UAE

Dubai, Sep 21: A leading community based association of UAE, Vamanjoorians UAE, celebrated a fun-filled nativity of Mother Mary at Bangalore Empire hotel here in Karama, Dubai. The programme started with a hymn, 'Naman Moriye' by Cynthia Latha and by offering flowers to Mother Mary, followed by a prayer and a cultural programme leading up to the traditional 'Novem Jovan', which was served in the traditional manner.

Fr Walty D’souza, Shakthinagar Priest, was also present for the programme. President Johnson Monteiro welcomed him with a bouquet. Fr Walty D’souza led the prayers and blessed the gathering. This was followed by the drinking of blessed Novem. Fr Robert Lasrado too, addressed the gathering.

Following the spiritual ceremony, the crowd was kept entertained with many games, dances, songs, quiz and a lot more. Games conducted included Housie Housie, Spot games, Kiss the tissue etc.

Dances were performed by the Party Spinners led by Nixon and team, Jadon Pinto, Joyston and Orelia, Lenita Noronha and Sianna from Feat Beat Dance Group.

Beautiful songs were sung by Cynthia Latha, ShanthiSaldanha, Jenitha Pinto, LidwinCutinho, Glen Carlo, Francis Rodrigues, Avith Lobo. A special song was sung by SangeethRasLancy Noronha. The ever green Konkani song 'Sophia' was sung by one of the most popular singers of UAE. Joseph Mathais. A Baila Session was conducted by Melwyn Dsouza, Robin and Sandra with music by Noel.

The programme was compered by Darrel Vamanjoor.

Many Vamanjooreans as well as outsiders were present for the programme and it was considered by all, to be a grand success.
