18 killed in Syria shelling

Damascus, Sep 21 (IANS): At least 18 people were killed on Monday when Syrian forces fired missiles into a rebel-held district of Aleppo.

The missile fire targeted al-Sha'ar neighbourhood and was followed by ground shelling, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The watchdog group said the rescue missions are still trying to save people who are buried under the rubble, Xinhua news agency reported.

The toll was likely to increase, the group added.
