Dejected disabled man sets himself on fire in MP


Bhopal, Sep 22 (IANS): A differently-abled man in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district set himself on fire on being disallowed to recite his poems before Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, lauding the government's initiatives like the 'save girl child'.

Anuj Jain, 22, who has been overwhelmed by Chouhan government's various initiatives like cleanliness drive and save girl child wished to recite his poems before the chief minister. But on approaching various offices, he was mocked. Deeply hurt, he set himself on fire on Monday. He was hospitalised in critical condition, an official said.

Divisional Commissioner R.K. Mathur, who has ordered a probe into the incident, told IANS that necessary arrangements would be ensured for Jain's treatment.
