PM pays tribute to 1965 martyrs


New Delhi, Sep 22 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tributes to soldiers who died in the 1965 India-Pakistan war.

Modi laid a wreath at Amar Jawan Jyoti at the India Gate monument, commemorating the victory in the war and remembering the sacrifice of the soldiers.

He wrote in the visitors' book and met some of the war veterans and their families.

The India-Pakistan war took place between September 6 and 23 in 1965.
