Markets open on a lower note


Mumbai, Sep 24 (IANS): The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) on Thursday opened on a lower note during the morning trading session.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), after opening at 25,798,05 points, touched a high of 25,811.85 and a low of 25,722.01 points in the morning.

The Sensex was trading at 25,731.99 points, down 91 points or 0.35 percent.

Similarly the broader 50-scrip Nifty at National Stock Exchange (NSE) lost 20.40 points or 0.26 percent during trading.

The Nifty was trading at 7,825.55 points against the previous day's closure of 7,845.95.
