Mangaluru, Sep 25: An unidentified male body was found in a train at Central railway station here on Friday September 25, following which the train was delayed in its departure by an hour.
The body was found in a general coach of the Mangaluru-Coimbatore Intercity Express.
The train had arrived at Central railway station from Thiruvananthapuram on the night of Thursday September 24, and was scheduled to depart at 11.45 am.
Just before the departure, the body was discovered in a coach. The railway police arrived at the spot and conducted investigation. The cause of death is not yet known.
Though the identity of the person is yet to be ascertained, sources in the railway police said that he was around 55 years old and hailed from Kerala. A ticket found in his pocket revealed that he was travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Karanganapalli.
The body was shifted to Wenlock hospital for post-mortem.
The train finally departed at 12.55 pm.
