Tamil Nadu governor, CM condole Haj deaths


Chennai, Sep 25 (IANS): Political leaders in Tamil Nadu condoled the death of over 700 Haj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia including three from the state.

In a statement issued here Governor K. Rosaiah expressed his deep shock and grief at Thursday's tragic accident in Saudi Arabia, saying of the 14 Indians who lost their lives, three were from Tamil Nadu and one from Hyderabad.

"I convey my sincere condolences to the bereaved members of the families and wish the injured a speedy recovery," Rosaiah said.

Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa expressed her anguish at the death of three people from Tamil Nadu. "I express my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families," she said.

Samsudeen Mohamed Ibrahim from Mayiladuthurai, Moideen Pichail of Tenkasi in Tirunelveli district and Remijen form Tiruchirapalli lost their lives in the incident.
