FA targets Guardiola as next England coach

London, Sep 25 (IANS): The English Football Association (FA) is targeting German champions Bayern Munich's Spanish coach Pep Guardiola as the next England manager, the British press reported on Friday.

The FA are willing to offer Guardiola 10 million pounds per year ($15.1 million dollars) for his services after the end of Euro 2016 competition, reports Efe.

If that happens, Guardiola, whose contract with Bayern ends after this season, will replace veteran Roy Hodgson, 68, the national coach since May 2012.

Alan Pardew, current coach of English side Crystal Palace and Gary Neville, Hodgson's assistant, are the other two possible candidates.
