RSS does not seek report card from us: Rajnath Singh

Lucknow, Sep 26 (IANS): Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said the central government was not giving any presentations or report card to the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) as reported in some sections of the media.

Taking part in a conclave organised by a prominent media house, the minister said he was proud to have his roots in the RSS but denied that the ministers of the union government were reporting to the RSS.

"We are volunteers or the RSS and would always remain so but to accuse of acting on its guidance is misplaced. But yes we do share experience and our views since the RSS pracharaks have their own wisdom and experience," he said.

At the same conclave, HRD Minister Smriti Irani also denied reports that she made a presentation at the RSS headquarter recently and said the media should not feed the people with unconfirmed news.

She also took on the media for acting a "judge and jury" and said while she did not have a dislike for the media she "understood the business of media" and hence preferred to keep to her work.
