Man murdered during party at Ghaziabad hospital quarters


Ghaziabad, Sep 26 (IANS): A man was murdered in the residential premises of a government hospital in Ghaziabad while he was attending the birthday party of a hospital employee, police said on Saturday.

The incident occurred on Friday night at the MMG Hospital premises.

Madan, the 27-year-old victim, was a resident of Sardhana in Meerut and a relative of Sardhana legislator Sangeet Som. He had come to the hospital premises to attend the birthday party of hospital employee Mohan, police said.

During the party, the victim was involved in a scuffle with another guest Lokesh Tyagi, who stabbed him with a sharp-edged instrument.

The instrument punctured a vein, and blood started oozing.

Lokesh, who drives a hospital ambulance, fled the spot, and the other guests rushed the victim to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Police detained party host Mohan and another guest Nawal.

"On a complaint by the deceased man's brother Shalu, we have registered a complaint and attempts are being made to arrest the culprit. Mohan and Nawal are being questioned," said Superintendent of Police (City) Ajay Pal.
