Mumbai, Sep 27: Renowned Mumbai-based builder Raphael A Sequeira, founder and managing director of Reliable Spaces Pvt Ltd, passed away after a brief illness on the night of Saturday September 27. He was 58.
Hailing from Madanthyar of Beltangady taluk, Raphael Sequeira was known for his iconic structures and single-storied IT buildings in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Mangaluru. The Tech Park at Airoli is one of Reliable Group's major projects.
For his immense contribution to development, he was honoured with award by Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mumbai in the year 2011, Federation of Konkani Catholic Association, Bengaluru, in 2013, and Rachana Award, Mangaluru, in 2014.
A resident of Powai, Raphael Sequeira leaves behind wife Clotilda, daughter Colette D'Lima and son-in-law Aaron D'Lima, and scores of well-wishers.
The last rites will be held on Monday September 28. The funeral cortege will leave residence at 3.30 pm to Holy Trinity Church, Powai, and mass will be held at 4 pm.
Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry founder secretary Vincent Mathias, working president Henry Lobo, directors Albert W D'Souza, Anthony Sequeira, John D'Silva, and Valerian R Fernandes of Federation of Konkani Catholic Association, Bengaluru and its office-bearers and many other prominent people expressed condolences at Raphael Sequeira's demise.
