Mangaluru: Bishop Henry D'Souza graces annual feast of Padre Pio

Mangaluru, Sep 27: The annual feast of Padre Pio was celebrated at St Anne's Friary here on Sunday September 27 with much joy and devotion.

Bishop of Ballari diocese Dr Henry D'Souza celebrated the festal mass.

"Let the life of St Pio be a beacon of light for us. Let his knowledge and blessed life inspire us. He led a life of sacrifice and service and we should inculcate these qualities in our daily lives," said bishop Henry.

Thereafter, he and MLA J R Lobo were honoured in a public programme.

Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino and Four Winds director Elias Fernandes were present as chief guests.

J R Lobo thanked the gathering for honouring him.

Divine Mercy Retreat Centre director Fr Cyprian D'Souza welcomed as well as proposed the vote of thanks.

    Great celebration of Fr.Pio's feast with bishop Henry,nice to see the good congregation, we in Doha Qatar having regular novena of Fr Pio on Monday,s and day by day devotees are coming more and more asking more and more favors, because his miracles specially who suffers from cancer and some chronic disease, he is a powerful witness because of his 5 wounds of CHRIST in his body.

    Nice to see capuchins priests along with Christian community celebrating pio de padres feast . Really it's nice to see Bishop Henry is the main celebrant of mass. Many known faces from bajpe and mangalore attended this holy mass nice to see them all
