Porter Prize for nine Indian companies, including Reliance Foundation


Gurgaon, Sep 28 (IANS): Nine Indian entities, including the Reliance Foundation, have been awarded the Porter Prize, named after Harvard don Michael E. Porter, considered to be the father of modern strategy field, the event's organiser, Institute for Competitiveness, India, said in a statement on Mondy.

Among those who received the awards, now in their fourth edition, on behalf of their entities were Sangita Reddy (Apollo Hospitals), Sajjan Jindal (JSW Steel), Anil Jain (Jain Irrigation), R. Subramanian (DHL) and Seshagiri Rao MVS (JSW Steel).

The prize on behalf of the Reliance Foundation was received by Rohit Bansal.

Meanwhile, the second edition of India's National Competitiveness Forum was also held on September 25 at The Leela here.

"It is a flagship event of the India Council on Competitiveness, which aims to drive Indian productivity, competitiveness and leadership in the world market via its activities. The forum started with an opening, two keynotes and was followed by four intriguing panel discussions," a statement said.
