Jharkhand weights inspector held for graft


Ranchi, Sep 28 (IANS): A weights and measurement inspector was arrested taking a bribe in Jharkhand's Koderma district on Monday, an official said.

Alok Kumar, weight and measurement inspector, was arrested while taking a bribe of Rs.3,500 at his office, a vigilance department official said.

The inspector had sought the bribe from one Pinku to renew his license of 'Dharam Kanta' (Truck Weighing Bridge). But Pinku informed the vigilance bureau officials. A trap was laid and Kumar was arrested red-handed.

He has been sent to jail, officials said.
