Mangaluru, Sep 29: The district unit of Sri Rama Sene has filed a complaint against Kannada author and rationalist Prof K S Bhagwan for making controversial remarks on Lord Krishna recently and thereby hurting religious sentiments.
The complaint was filed by Anand Shetty Adyar, divisional president of Sri Rama Sena in Mangaluru rural police station here Monday September 28.
Speaking to daijiworld, Anand Shetty said, "From one year, Bhagwan has been making controversial remarks on Hinduism and Hindu deities like Rama and Krishna. There is a strategy to insult Hinduism. Sri Ram Sena strongly condemn his remarks.
"I have also requested the police to take action to stop people from making these kinds of remarks which hurt the Hindu sentiment. This is not good. If you have no faith, no problem, but do not hurt the sentiments of Hindus," he said.
In the complaint, Sri Rama Sene stated, "Dakshina Kannada is communally sensitive. The Hindus are in majority here and they believe in Lord Krishna. By making such derogatory statements on a public forum, Bhagwan is hurting their sentiments and also violating the law. He is making such statements for publicity. Hence strict action should be taken against him and justice should be done."
