Guwahati, Jul 17: Kailash Nath Jha, a senior official of the Cement Corporation of India (CCI), died of heart attack shortly after he had been kidnapped by a militant group close to the ULFA in Assam.

"There is no injury sign on the body...He died of heart failure," Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi told reporters in Guwahati on Monday.

Official sources said Jha, who was a heart patient, died after he was picked up with 10 others at gunpoint by a group of 25 heavily armed suspected ULFA ultras from a place under Dilai police outpost on Sunday night.

The militants, who were taken aback at the sudden collapse of Jha, left the place in a hurry leaving behind the other eight employees of the CCI, they said. The body of Jha was handed over to his family.
