Yemen wedding party attack toll rise to 131

Sanaa, Sep 29 (IANS): The death toll from a suspected air strike on a wedding party in Yemen's Taiz province has risen to at least 131, the United Nations said on Tuesday.

Missiles on Monday reportedly hit two tents in a Wahga village near the Red Sea port of Mocha, where a man linked to the Houthi rebel movement was celebrating his marriage, BBC reported.

But the Saudi-led coalition denied it was responsible for the attack.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned the disregard for human life shown by the warring parties in Yemen.

Monday's incident came just one day after helicopters of the Saudi-led coalition shelled several houses in Hajjeh province, killing at least 28 civilians and injuring 17 others.
