Over 30 militants killed in Turkey's cross-border operation


Ankara, Sep 29 (IANS): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday said over 30 militants of outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) were killed in a cross-border operation in northern Iraq.

"We'll not stop, but continue (military operations)," Erdogan said, adding that the Turkish military has killed more than 2,000 PKK members in both domestic and cross border operations since July.

Two police officers were killed on Monday evening in a gun attack in Adana province, Adana Governor Mustafa Buyuk was quoted as saying by private Dogan News Agency on Tuesday.

Wide scale operations have been carried out in the region to apprehend PKK suspects, said Buyuk.

Last week, two Turkish soldiers and 34 PKK militants were killed in clashes in Sirnak province.
