NGT orders waste disposal, treatment in Vrindavan

Vrindavan, Sep 29 (IANS): The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Tuesday directed the Vrindavan local municipal body to work on developing waste disposal sites and ensure that solid waste was not littered in the temple town or dumped on the Yamuna river bed.

The NGT was hearing a petition by river activist Madhu Mangal Shukla.

Rahul Choudhary, the petitioner's lawyer, told IANS that the tribunal gave the local body two weeks for the completion of the work.

A report by the local municipal body needs to be submitted before the NGT by November 3, he said.
