Cash-starved Cong asks its MPs, ex-MPs, ex-MLAs to donate for party fund

New Delhi, Sep 30 (Agencies): Ahead of the Bihar polls, Congress seems to be cash-strapped as it has asked all its MPs ex-MPs, ex-MLAs to donate a month’s salary to the party to overcome its worst-ever financial crisis.

It was widely being reported that there was a “severe cash crunch” in the party during last year’s Lok Sabha elections also. The crisis reportedly continued through assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana, Delhi, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir.

AICC treasurer Motilal Vora has written letters to all 44 Lok Sabha MPs and 65 Rajya Sabha MPs asking them to donate their one month salary, while the Delhi unit of Congress yesterday had a meeting at which ex-MPs and ex-MLAs were asked to deposit Rs 1 lakh each for party fund by the first week of October.

The Congress’s Delhi in-charge PC Chacko and Delhi unit chief Ajay Maken will meet former MPs and MLAs on Wednesday to discuss the matter.

The state leadership have also been asked to rope in the party ministers and ex-ministers to mop up resources, while the AICC will be asking ex-Union Ministers, who served in either UPA or UPA II governments or both to liberally help the party in the hour of need, says a report in Hindustan Times.

The upper limit for seeking donation from party leaders is not limited to Rs 1 lakh and in some cases it could go up to even Rs 5 lakhs. In February, the party had made it mandatory for each member to contribute Rs 250 per year to the party fund.

May be the money is required to tame Election Commission who are already purchased by the BJP (BJP M.P. says Election Commission is in their hands).

Secondly, it is good to run a party from the contributions from MLA's M.P.'s and from the Citizens rather than cleaving into Tata's, Adanies, Ambanies and Saambranies.

Conventional sources of income are dried-up. Meanwhile, funds mobilized from 2G, Coal auction, Bofors, Commonwealth Games, Defence Deals etc... etc... are also getting depleted. Now the party is asking the ministers/MPs to refund a share of loot with which they may have run away when congress was voted out of power. If Yettinahole project was progressing, the sources would have been kept live for next few years, but people are not allowing things to happen though elected MPs and MLAs are trying their best otherwise. Congress can indeed go back to Chidambaram, Salman Khurshid and Kapil Sibal trio who may be holding majority of the loot by virtue of being the masterminds and is capable to mobilize twice the amount others can collectively contribute together. Then Finance Minister has mobilised thousands of crores by appointing MD/ED in public Sector Enterprises on auction route and these funds has been channelled to election fund of the party. As a gesture of reciprocation, he has been placed at a coveted position for five years. Chidambaram, Salman Khurshid and Kapil Sibal are now arguing cases against the interest of republic with points of conflicting interests they may have gathered while being the part of the dispensation once. Indian democracy is a big "thamasha". Most of the notorious criminal lawyers are aptly fitting into various positions. One term is enough if you have the right skills and five generation will live in luxury. After 60 years of independence, 90% of national resources of a socialist democratic republic is captively held by less than 2% of population. We are moving to anarchy. Beware! Tomorrow belongs to those who has nothing to lose. Looting the looters for public good is legalised even in Manusmruthi.

Anyways with 44 useless MP's there is no Scope for any Scam like they did in last 5 decades.

Haryana Govt has tightened the Nooze around Land Grabber Vadra that its though for him also to contribute to the fund. We heard he has already grabbed some land in Mars after Pappu discovered water there. Few left BJP states like Karnataka is also bankrupt thanks to Bhaagya Schemes and freebies to create Vote bank and almost 10 farmers are committing sucide on daily basis. They don’t have money to buy power for the state, forget contributing to Bihar. Instead we heard Nidderamiah is in the process of converting Karnataka int Bihar. That’s the best he can do at the moment.
