New Delhi, Sep 30 (Agencies): A day after Pakistan government’s brutality in the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) region was exposed, Pakistan claimed that the visuals were fake and it was nothing but propaganda by Indian media.
Pakistan’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Sartaj Aziz claimed, “Pakistan remains committed to finding a just and peaceful resolution to Jammu and Kashmir dispute. Pakistan’s position on the K-issue is based on the UN Security Council resolutions, which haven’t been implemented to this day. India by using force has quelled the Kashmiri struggle and as a result, 90,000 Kashmiris have been killed over the last two decades in Kashmir.”
However, Pakistan is silent when asked about the atrocities committed in PoK. In fact, CNN-IBN had caught the cries for freedom from Pakistan and has proof of human rights violation on tape from ground zero.
It may be noted that CNN-IBN on 29 September exposed the real face of PoK where massive protests were held against the Pakistani government in Muzaffarabad, Gilgit and Kotli. The authorities were shown using force to quell rebellion in the region. This when Islamabad never lost an opportunity at hitting out at New Delhi for suppressing the rights of the people of J&K.
Commenting on the video, Pakistan Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry said, “It’s a propaganda. Pakistan has always raised the voice for the Kashmiris. The whole world is watching how Pakistani flags are being raised in Kashmir (Indian Side). From our side it will only be moral and diplomatic support for them.”
Recently, Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif raised the K-issue at the United Nations. But as Pakistan tries to make a case for Kashmir, its own house in PoK seems to be in disorder.
There are massive protests in PoK, demanding freedom from Pakistan aggression. These can’t be called sporadic protests, as the swelling crowd, and the police and Army presence is a clear indicator that these agitations are a force to reckon with.
Some protesters have said on camera that Pakistan has no right to use force on them. Demanding merging with India, the protestors are dissatisfied with Pakistan, which weakens its Kashmir stand against India.
