Mangalore, Jul 19: On the outskirts of the city, a speeding auto knocked down and killed a student who was riding a mobike at Asaigoli near Konanje here on Wednesday July 18.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Aswasan Khan (21), a student of P A College of Engineering. He was the only son of Prof Mohammed Peer who passed away couple of years ago after a prolonged illness. Prof Mohammed Peer was teaching sociology in the University. Yathishraj who was riding pillion is said to be in a critical condition. 

The mishap occurred when the auto was on its way to Mudipu from Thokkottu. Konaje police have registered a case in this regard.
