Tropical storm forms on South China Sea


Beijing, Oct 2 (IANS): A tropical depression strengthened into a storm on Friday and is still gathering power as it entered the eastern part of the South China Sea.

Authorities in Hainan province warned that storm Mujigae is set to bring in strong gales and downpour from Sunday, the Global Times reported.

At 5.00 a.m., the storm was monitored at 15.9 degrees north latitude and 120.5 degrees east longitude, packing up strong winds with it at speed of 64.8 km per hour.
