Albanians held for attack on disabled Indian

Rome, Oct 3 (IANS/AKI): Two off-duty police officers on Friday arrested two Albanians who allegedly assaulted a disabled Indian teenager on a Rome bus, Il Messaggero daily reports.

One Albanian allegedly blocked the schoolboy from the view of other passengers while his accomplice punched, kicked and insulted him and hit him around the head with a rolled up newspaper.

When the teen's classmates tried to intervene, the Albanians allegedly attacked several of them as well, prompting the two police officers who were on the bus to arrest the two men.

The Albanians were put under house arrest and face charges of physical assault and breaking Italy's anti-racism laws.
