28 killed in Afghan clashes


Kabul, Oct 3 (IANS): At least 28 people were killed on Saturday when clashes broke out in Afghanistan's Jawzjan province, a police official said.

"Taliban militants attacked security checkpoints in Darzab, Khamab and Mangjet districts triggering gun battle," the official told Xinhua.

The victims comprised 24 militants and four security personnel, the official added.
