Udupi, Oct 4: A public interaction meeting with district-in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake was held at the DC office auditorium on Saturday October 3.

After inaugurating the meeting , Sorake said, “Udupi is the center for many first rank holders in various sectors, even in senior citizen service. Udupi district is 99.29 percent free of open defecation and has also been declared a blood donors’ district.”

He added that they did not get expected results from the 94 C law. There are problems of deemed and Kumki lands and there is need to speed up work on it. “The meeting should not be conducted for namesake. Relaxation in CRZ rules is necessary as applied before in Goa and Kerala,” added Sorake.

Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj said, “Politicians are servants of the public; politicians (candidates) need to keep this in mind before entering the service sector. All pending files are to be completed by the end of November. BPL cards are just like doors to life. Udupi also stands first in disposal of paper files in Karnataka state.”

“Regarding road potholes, the number of vehicles is increasing day by day and the average rainfall is more in the coastal area. Hence, the road patch work will start soon after monsoon,” he said.

A person from Harady submitted an appeal to Sorake seeking clearing of algae from Barkur Chaulikere and developing it as a tourist spot.

Devi Prasad, Belapu grama panchayat, said, “Drinking water is not reaching the rural areas under the task force scheme. Enough grants are not available for changing the GPS. An amount of Rs 120 crore tax is to be collected from the UPCL in Padubidre and Rs 60 crore of tax is still pending collection from Padur power plant. BPL cards are being cancelled quietly.”

In response to this, the Tahasildar said that nearly 2,094 people have cancelled their cards under the 14 government guidelines.
A Vaddarse panchayat resident demanded replacement of the accountant in the panchayat. He said that there is no transparency in the panchayat administration and they are not calling tenders on any projects.

He also alleged that the officials were overlapping the construction bill and misusing power. CEO Kanagavalli, DC Vishal, CMC president P Yuvaraj, CMC commissioner Manjunathaiah, and Soap and Detergent Commission chairman Veronica Carnelio were present.

If anyone can prove that I have taken even single penny from anyone I will quit my Mla post. I am one of the highest payers of income tax and everything I own is from my own earnings and everything is accounted for. People of udupi know me better and I have my own doubts whether Rahul shetty is from udupi and if so I pity his ignorance. Already more than 500 crores of work is in progress or completed or sanctioned for development in my constituency.

    Dear rahul shetty, udupi,

Just for the sake of writing it can be done by anyone. Nevertheless your claim of allegations and accusations must be proved.

Now the elected M.L.A., of UDUPi District threw a open challange. Kindly prove if you have otherwise don't write blah, blah, blah....

Congress has ruled for 60 years and the citizens have unseated the communal parties from ruling since 60 years. Now by default only from the fekuism the BJP has won elections.

Where is shoba karndlaje in front of honest man Mr. Hegde.
