Five Kashmiri youth with Rs.6 lakh detained in Patna

Patna, Oct 7 (IANS): Five youth from Jammu and Kashmir were on Wednesday detained in Patna and Rs.6 lakh seized from them, police said.

"Five Kashmiri youth staying in a hotel as fruit merchants have been detained on suspicion," a district police official said, adding that they were questioned about their visit to the state.

Their detention comes on a day when Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is set to address three rallies in Bihar and a day ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's four rallies in the state ahead of the assembly polls.

Elections to the 243-member Bihar assembly will be held in five phases between October 12 and November 5. Counting of votes will be taken up on November 8.
