Udupi: Engineers urged to complete pending tasks, Rs 111.19 lac released

Udupi, Oct 7: MLA Pramod Madhwaraj on Tuesday October 6 held a meeting for engineers from various departments at taluk panchayat to speed up the road repairing work.


The MLA revealed that Rs 111.19 lac has been approved by the government for road repair as well as other developmental tasks like rivers, bridges and development of tourists places.

The MLA urged the PWD, NH authority, land army, fisheries, nirmiti kendra, water supply and irrigation, to complete the assigned pending projects before December 31. Due to shortage of funds the date for completion of unfinished work has been extended.

He further said that a proposal of Rs 10 crore has been sent to chief minister Siddharamaiah in connection with Udupi Paryaya event and urged them to hasten up the work of all pending projects.

Rs 10 crore was released by the state committee towards building of a bridge from Uppoor to Manipal. However, technical observance needs to be conducted before work begins.

He also added that work in several areas is in progress and some of the projects will be completed soon.
