Cabinet okays MoU on sports with Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan

New Delhi, Oct 7 (IANS): The union cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday gave its ex-post facto approval to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and agreement with Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan for cooperation in the field of sports.

The MoU was signed in July, 2015.

India's bilateral exchange programmes in sports with Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan will help in expanding knowledge in sports science, sports medicine and coaching techniques, the government said in a statement.

"It would result in improvement in performance of Indian sportspersons in international tournaments," it added.
