Show contracts with Facebook, Google, court asks government


New Delhi, Oct 7 (IANS): The Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed the central government to place before it the contracts it has with social media sites like Facebook and Google.

A division bench of Justice B.D. Ahmed and Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva asked the government to file the nature of contracts it has entered into with social media sites by October 28, the next date of hearing.

On May 7, the court had also asked the government to place before it the contract but they had has not been filed yet.

The court was hearing a PIL filed by former Bharatiya Janata Party leader K.N. Govindacharya, in which advocate Virag Gupta questioned the usage of social media by government departments.
