Udupi, Oct 8: “JCI, as part of their centenary celebrations, has reserved Rs 25 lacs towards scholarships for 1,250 students. A major portion of this is being distributed among JCI zone No. 15. A total of 250 talented students from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Uttara Kannada are being handed over Rs 5 lac worth of scholarships,” said Y Sukumar, director, JCI India Foundation.

He was speaking at a programme held by JCI Kaup at Polipu yard beach recently. Krishna Mohan P S, zonal president, JCI 15, inaugurated the centenary celebrations. Programme division zonal director Mangesh Shanbhog presided over the programme.

Adani Foundation executive director Kishore Alva, JCI legal advisor Jomi Joseph, development department national director Sampath Suvarna, national organizer Sachin Kurthikar, Sheetal Gandhi, different zonal presidents Prakash D, Sathish Kumar, zonal vice-president Anil Kumar, as well as film stars Roopesh Shetty and Anwitha were present as chief guests.

Former zonal presidents, vice-presidents, and zonal committee members as well as Kaup JCI former president and secretary Vinod Kanchan were present.

JCI India foundation director Y Sukumar, former zonal president Allen Rohan Vaz, Roopesh Shetty and Anwitha were honoured on the occasion.

Kaup JCI president Yogish Rai welcomed. Centenary celebrations programme director Deepak Kumar Ermal proposed the vote of thanks. Zonal director Rakesh Kunjoor, T V organizer Chetan Kumar, and Sharmila compered the programme.
