Australian dollar continues to climb


Sydney, Oct 9 (IANS): The Australian dollar continued its climb this week on Friday.

At the end of overnight trading, the local unit was trading at 72.60 US cents, up from 71.77 US cents on Thursday, Xinhua reported.

The currency has traded in a wide range over the past 24 hours, with a low of 71.64 US cents and a high of 72.73 US cents.

The peak represents the currency's highest mark since September 18.
