Akhilesh, Ram Naik mourn death of Ravindra Jain


Lucknow, Oct 10 (IANS): Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav condoled the death of legendary music composer, director, lyricist and singer Ravindra Jain, who died at Lilawati hospital in Mumbai on Friday.

In a condolence message, Naik recalled the contribution of Jain to the music world and said he had carved a niche for himself by his hard work and talent. He also recalled Jain's contribution in former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's live recording of "Qadam Milakar Chalna Hoga: Svarna Jayanti Sangeet Sandhya" and termed his demise as an irreparable loss to the music world.

Akhilesh Yadav too recalled Jain's contribution to music and said that it was his immense talent that led to his being awarded the Yash Bharti award by the state government. Praying for peace to the departed soul, he also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of tragedy.

Ravindra Jain hailed from Aligarh district in Uttar Pradesh and enjoyed a huge following in the state. He was a regular visitor to the state.
