Udupi: DCIB police nab absconding theft-accused from Maharashtra

Udupi, Oct 10: Personnel of district crime intelligence bureau have succeeded in arresting Dayanand Nayak alias Suresh (40), son of Krishna Nayak, resident of Mambettu House, Bommarabettu Village, Hiriyadka in the district. Dayanand faces a case relating to the theft of building materials worth about nine lac rupees registered in Padubidri police station during the year 2010.

The policemen, acting under the directions of district superintendent of police, K Annamalai and guidance of additional superintendent of police, T R Jaishankar, found Dayanand Nayak and arrested him from near the pipeline at Bhiwandi in Thane district, Maharashtra. It is gathered that Dayanand had acquired a fake name, Suresh and was in hiding in Bhiwandi.

He was arrested at 11.30 pm on October 6 and handed over for further action to Padubidri police station the next evening, a release said.
