Mumbai, Jul 26: Nancy I Sequeira, Shivaprasad R Shetty and Calist Cardoza, Mangaloreans residing in the limits of Mira Road–Bhayandar Municipality are contesting as independent candidates from ward 66, ward 67 and ward 55 respectively for the forthcoming municipal polls scheduled to be held on August 12. 

Rohit M Suvarna and Merlyn D’Sa will be the candidates representing National Congress Party (NCP) and Congress (I) from ward  2 and ward  60 respectively.

Rohit M Suvarna: He was originally from Boloor in Mangalore taluk who grew up in Mumbai, completed B.Com from Pune University and later LLB from Mumbai University.  He has been residing in Bhayandar for the past 26 years. He had been appointed as Special Executive Officer by Maharastra government recently.  He has carved niche in his locality as social worker and political leader.

Nancy Ignatius Sequeira: She hails from Kirem in Udupi district.  She is a commerce graduate, known in the locality for her social service besides  being an activeCongress worker who has made significant mark in various posts under the jurisdiction of Thane district Congress Block.

Shivaprasad R Shetty: He is the son of senior bank officer Ratnakar and Shantha Shetty couple hailing from Hejamady in Udupi district.  He has done management degree from Mumbai University and is actively involved in social work, promoting sports and religious activities in the neighborhood.
