Bantwal, Oct 13: In an incident which occurred at Chendthimar in B Casba village here on Sunday October 11, a person named Vishwanath allegedly assaulted his sister and posed death threat to her during her visit to her mother living with him.

The victim, Chandravathi, has got herself admitted into a private hospital at Thumbe and lodged a complaint against her elder brother. A case stands registered relating to this incident at the town police station.

Chandravathi resides in a rented house in Thumbe village. She used to visit her ailing mother living at Chendhimar often, but during these visits, her brother, Vishwanath, posed her threats, and warned her against visiting his home. Aggrieved at this behaviour, Chandravathi had approached the court of the junior magistrate (first class) here, after which the court held trial and passed orders, permitting Chandravathi to visit her mother.

On Sunday, armed with a copy of the court order, Chandravathi visited her mother, it is said. The town police said that Chandravathi has alleged that her elder brother attacked her and posed her threats notwithstanding the fact that she was in possession of court order permitting her to visit her mother.

The police are investigating the complaint.
