Mangaluru: Gang of four attacks and injured student leader

Mangaluru, Oct 14: A gang of four attacked Suhas, BBM student of a city-based college and convener of All College Students Union, on the night of Monday October 12. Besides hitting Suhas with wooden stick and stabbed with a knife, it is gathered.

The names of the accused attackers have been given as Latish Nayak, Sushant alias Kunta Sushant, Meyrick, and Mahendra Nayak.

This incident is connected with a dispute which arose between the inmates of a hostel located near a college, and those residing in a postgraduate hostel near PVS, on the night of Sunday. For sorting out the issue and striking a truce, Mahendra, who was known to both the groups, had been requested to come near the fish market at Alake, Kudroli. During the discussions, quarrel began between the participants, culminating in the said attack.

Allegedly, one of the accused, Latish Nayak, not only chided Suhas in foul language, but also stabbed him in the abdomen region with a knife. It is said that the attackers ran away after noticing that a police party was arriving near the spot in a vehicle.

Based on a complaint filed by Suhas, Bunder poilce have registered a case and taken up investigation.
