Chinese shares open lower

Beijing, Oct 14 (IANS): Chinese stocks opened lower on Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edging down 0.4 percent to open at 3,280.02 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.41 percent lower at 10,997.08 points. The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, opened 0.51 percent lower at 2,330.08 points, Xinhua reported.
