Sharif shortens US visit

Islamabad, Oct 14 (IANS): Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has shortened his visit to the US to three full days, axing at least two major engagements, the media reported on Wednesday.

Sharif had planned to reach Chicago on October 19 to address a meeting of potential Pakistani-American investors the following day, the Dawn reported.

He will now arrive in Washington on October 20 night and return home on October 23.

On October 22, Sharif will meet President Barack Obama at the White House. Both sides have refused to disclose what they will discuss.

But Sharif's adviser on foreign affairs and national security, Sartaj Aziz, said in Islamabad that he would discuss the stalled dialogue between Pakistan and India with the US president.
